Shipping to Alaska is what kills me

Been Around the Block
Hey everyone..been lurking and thought I'd introduce. I picked up a 82 KZ550 in the beginning of summer from a guy who NEEDED the money for taxes so I gave him $600 cash and took it home. According to the previous owner nothing worked, brakes were bad, no lights and no spark with a new battery, and the general condition was crap. Well 15 hard minutes and I had it running and the brakes back to working condition: negative connection to frame was bad and two wires from the stator were pinched and cut when he took off the clutch housing oh and bled the brakes...so what I thought was a brake-down to the frame and rebuild has actually been my summer runner. I have some big plans for this guy over the winter (I live in Eagle River, Alaska) with my 12 yo son and were gonna make it a cafe racer as best we can. As I stated in the title it's always the shipping to Alaska that gets us...I could order some Clubmans for $40 and shipping would be $50...it sucks. So once a month I go to California (San D and Temecula) for work and I'm hoping to pick up parts in the local areas or at least have parts shipped there and bring them home on the plane. Anyone have a good idea of where I could find cafe parts? I am looking at getting a seat already made or fabbing myself but mostly lights, drop bars, speedo/tach gauges, maybe a new tank.
Oh and I haven't figured out imuger or one of those hosting site for pics, but when I do I'll post a pick of the girl.

For parts you could find an amiable member near your work in Cali and ship to that address... pick up on your way through...
