When I swapped out my shocks for sporty's I went in to the local parts shop and he had the bushings in a "box of rubber bits" (brand new) and gave em to me for nothing... Might want to check around and see if any mechanics have em lying around.

Yeah, I did that....no dice......I have some extra shocks but can't seem to get one out of those either

Popped the old ones out by putting a large diameter socket on one side, a smaller diameter one on the other, and pressing it all in a vice. Only problem is that the eye in the shock is tapered, so you need something small enough to go through the skinniest part.

These can also be a real bitch to get back IN!! I've got a couple baggies of these laying around. The usually give a few different sizes with new universal shocks. If the press out, press in method doesn't work for you, lemme know.

I bought a kit of bushings from www.mikesxs.com with a shipment of parts, thinking I'd use them with my Hagon shocks. The bushings I got with the Hagons were too wide for the XS650 (they were originally on a Triumph). Unfortunately the diameter of the new bushings is larger than the Hagons, so I somehow need to trim them down to get into the shocks.

Or, I may take the stock Hagon bushings to the bandsaw and see if I can trim a couple millimeters off the end. Figure if I put them in a c-clamp and then run through the saw I might make it work. If I had a disk sander that migth do the trick too.
