I want a shock that's not to stiff. Where live there are a lot of pot holes. Anythings better than what I got now. The guy I bought the bike from cut the original springs so now its like I have no shocks. I see the shocks with the extra reservoir and I'm wondering what the benefit of that is. I really don't want to spend more $200. I was thinking about buying some 12" ones from dcc. What do you guys think?

There really isnt much advantage to it if you're doing everyday riding on the street. Just stay away form the Ebay $40 shocks that look cool with the remote reservoirs. They are just plain junk.
Here is an explanation of the remote reservoir but it probably really only applies to the higher end shocks like Progrssive, Works, ELKA etc....
Works shocks are pressurized with nitrogen. Standard Works shocks are a gas-emulsion type--that means that the nitrogen is charged into the oil. The remote reservoirs are attached to the shocks through a hose that transfers oil. Inside the reservoir is a polyurethane bladder that separates the nitrogen from the oil. There are two advantages to this. One is that the oil capacity of the shock is increased, which aids in cooling the shock fluid and increases the service life of the oil; and the second is that the compression and rebound valving will stay consistent under the most severe off-road terrain or closed-course track conditions.

No the original are not rebuildable.
If you shop around you can get progressive brand shocks and springs for $225-250
Hagon are tailored to you and run closer to $300
Well worth the money, and zero point to buying $100 "universal" shocks or even worse those remote res shocks on ebay
Shocks are a big part of the motorcycle and the hobby, at least to me, should be about improving they way your bikes works as a bike.
If you cant afford the right part then you cant play. Become educated on what shocks are good or rebuildable and scour ebay for take offs from something else
eye to clevis shocks are harder to come by though.
Also the DOHC length is one inch longer and improves the handling of the SOHC bikes.

I got my springs and shocks today but I think I'm missing the washer thing that holds the spring down. The piece that slides into the groove while the spring is compressed. Should it have come with my springs and shocks? Also what's the name of the piece I'm talking about?
