Should I DO This Trade???

On the fence over here I have my KZ750 its an 82....Runs drives and goes fast.... like really fast. I got into the bike for $100....Did Work to it, to make it look/run better Thanks again for all the advice that helped me get it there....So a few Beers deep I'm on Craigslist shooting emails and i see a 1991 Sportster 1200 good shape for $1500....Only thing is the ad says "Bumped a Wire, Now it Won't Start & have no time to fix" I shoot an email and he gets right back and is interested....I don't know much about HD's besides there slower than my KZ....But I do think that it would be easier to trade it up but i have no idea what i'm getting into...WHAT WOULD U DO?

If it has a title, good compression, and you can find out a little more about that wire that got "bumped" I would be all over that.

I would be all over that, if only to trade up. But Hds have some really fun torque to them, and really, they are pretty damn nice.

Got a $5 Honda PA-50 II ...Got it Running...Today I get two Trade offers one for a 81 Suzuki SP500 leaking oil beat dirt bike but runs

the other for a 1977 Yamaha XS 360 titled but not running

thoughts? which would you choose? they both have their plus's and minus's

XS360's are neat little bikes. Take what you've learned from the Kawi and hone your skills. 360's almost came café from the factory....

I'd have done the Sportster trade in a heartbeat IF the KZ was a 4 cylinder. They're both Kawasaki designed engines, I just like twins, be they v or p type... For the haters, Kawasaki designed the Evolution cylinder head for Harley, you can find an HD internal factory memo video if you search hard enough...

The step through for the XS360 would be a great trade. The 360 is a nice little bike, I actually prefer it to CBs. Not as common, a bit less finicky, and a slightly better frame.

Wow. What is your method for finding all these trades? Are you running CL ads?


I'm very partial to KZ's but I'd have swapped the KZ for that sportster for sure. Both are great bikes but in the end you'll hold more $ value in the sportster. IMHO.

Craigslist Barter Section....Also Knowing people who don't know Jack about fixing things helps out huge. I would have done the sportster trade as well but sometimes people don't get back to you ASAP and by the time you hear from them again they plugged the spark plug back in and don't want to trade anymore
