Should I get a sand blaster cabinet?

Hey gang just wanted to run this by everybody, I can get a killer deal on a blasting cabinet and was wondering if anyone that has one if it is worth it or is it easier to get stuff prof. Stripped? It is the 30lb one that sits on a work table from HF.

Does it come with a compressor? You need a compressor if it doesn't.

Blasting media has a tendency to get everywhere you don't want it, so if you do get one, you would want to have it away from your workbench area (preferably outside).

No, they suck.

They leak no matter what you do, are difficult to see what you are blasting and need a MINIMUM of 5 cfm at 90 psi to blast.

I would just be blasting small parts like,wheels,brackets,etc.. I have a compressor that will be perfect. This is my first bike and was just wondering if it was worth it to have one.

Yes. If it's a killer deal and you decide you're no longer using it you dump it on Kijiji or Craigslist when they're not on sale at HF and get most/all your money back anyhow.

I'd be looking at doing soda-blasting for things like carbs and engine cases etc. If you have the compressor to do the job, and space for the cabinet to live, why not? You'll become a lot of people's best friends - the guy with the blasting cabinet in his garage. Free beer for the rest of time at least.

I would get it if it's a good deal as well. Right now I blast outside with a giant rubbermaid container and no matter how hard i try to contain it the shit goes everywhere. Blasting in a Cabinet is great for small parts and will allow use to re-use the media which can be expensive.

It is around 80.00 at HF. It is the 30lb, which I think is more than enough. I have a corner in my garage I can set it and not have to move it. I don't know how many projects I will be doing in the future but I think having the right tools will help out the current project.
