Show me your paint work

Learning, swearing, breaking, fixing, making.
OK so I'm trying to inject some enthusiasm back into my project and so I'm looking at paint schemes. Want something with a couple of colours that is rattle-can/idiot friendly. all inspiration welcome.

I began with a straight satin black on the tank and plastics but want to give some more character.

Show me what you've done!

I'm currently fixing up an SR250, and i'm going with black frame, turquoise-y tank and forks, gold wheels and shocks, silver fenders....

i think purple could look pretty awesome!........

Thanks guys who posted up pix. Think the last one was slightly over my competency level....

Anyhoos I went for Ivory gloss on the sides, broad black satin stripe along the top with a burgundy pinstripe. Here's pics of the paint, just waiting for the pinstripes to arrive before finishing it off.

Add on the black emblems

and I think it'll look pretty good.

Very cool, I like!

Thanks, I think it's going to turn out well. wanted to get away from just black.

Just quickly mocked up in photoshop one with the pinstripe to get an idea of how it'll look...

Hmmm

Just mocked this up. I really like the Ivory/black combo and now wonder whether a silver pinstripe might look much cooler??? Thoughts anyone?

OK so I popped downstairs this afternoon and the pinstripes had arrived, so....

Like the red stripes a lot more! Are you clearcoating over that?

That's the plan. As soon as I work out what to use. I bought some PU clearcoat that is supposed to be fuel resistant but I' not sure if it'll play nice with the colour coats... Failing that I'll have to search around for some acrylic clearcoat.

IMO the clearcoat will make the satin shiny (er). They make a flattener for clearcoat, or a satin clearcoat, but not in rattlecan that I am aware of. Looks good as it is!

Thanks mate. Yeah I'm a bit loathe to do more in case I f@*k it up! I may just run with it as it is for a while and see how it goes.
