Skyteam Ace custom parts - Tracker Seat + Rear Guard ready to order

Been Around the Block
I thought I'd split this out of the Salt Lake 50cc thread for ease. Below are the details on parts that I am currently in the process of making for the Skyteam Aces. Parts will be bolt-on as much as possible so that any owner with a spanner can fit them themselves. I will endeavour to keep this first post updated with the latest details on each part:

Rear Hugger Mudguard
Set of 3 brackets and associated bolts to fit a front mudguard as a hugger rear mudguard. Aside from one small hole to be drilled into the swingarm the entire fitment is a bolt-on jog which can be undertaken without removing the rear wheel. Guards are intended as a more aesthetically pleasing way to meet Australian standards.
The first batch of brackets has arrived and will be going out to powdercoat shortly.
$60 for set of black powdercoated brackets and bolts with fitting instructions
Guards can be ordered direct from Ikonic Moto for around $100 shipped (depending on location)

Leather Tank Straps
Leather strap and mounting bracket designed to do away with the original rubber strap. Strap designed to hook straight to the frame tab at the front, and bolt down to the same location at the rear.
Mounting plates have arrived and will be powdercoated shortly, leather strap manufacturer has gone on holidays for a few weeks (the joys of working with small Australian manufacturers), we will hopefully see a final prototype from them mid June.
Current estimate $40 per strap including mounting bolt and plate

Custom Ace Seat
To clean up the lines a little on the rear of the Aces I've developed a custom seat, the first prototype of which can be seen on our Salt Lake bike. The seat is a bolt-on option using the original seat mounting brackets, and is available with or without the taillight/indicator/number plate mounting bracket.
The profile of the seat has been fine-tuned since the first prototype to flow better with the tank, trimming will also be revised shortly. Lasercut parts for the revised version have arrived.
I have received a quote for molding the tail of the seat and in small volumes it is more expensive than hoped. current retail for the complete seat is looking to be around the $400 mark ready to bolt on to your bike. As an alternative to the colour matched molded tail for a similar price I could do a foam molded tail and have it trimmed into the seat. What are peoples preferences?

Stainless Bolts
Replacement bolts will be available either as a complete bike set or in kits for specific areas.
A full list of bolts has been supplied to a bolt supplier I have used previously in a previous job, but being a new business I am having a little trouble getting an agreement out of them, will let you all know as soon as I can provide pricing for these.

If there is anything else people would be interested in please let me know.

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts

On the seat mod... Is there room under the hump for the standard battery or a smaller lighter replacement?

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts

Definitely no space for a standard battery 2b. There are so many different compact items I am sure a couple will fit. If there are any preferred makes/models I will measure up the space for them.

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts

Don't have one in particular in mind yet, bike ordered and should get here mid July.

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts

Sorry about the late reply, I have been caught up with a couple of events for the motorbike clothing side of Suus (vintage motorcycle jackets and uglyBROS moto wear).

I have just added some indicative pricing for some of the components to the top post.

I have also had a couple of people enquire about purchasing the seat pan to make a tracker-style seat of their own for an Ace, since the pan has a perfectly flat base and is designed to bolt onto the factory seat mounts. If anyone is curious about this idea I can add a photo of the pan and a price for just the pan powdercoated.

As mentioned above I am keen to get some feedback on alternatives for the seat. The new seat pan has been designed to flow a lot better with the tank than the first prototype, with a nice little radius on the front to complement the back of the tank. My initial idea was to paint the rear of the seat silver to match the tank as per the prototype, but due to the cost of the plastic molding of a tail section in small volumes for the same price as molding the tail I could get it trimmed into the seat as is common on a lot of aftermarket cafe racer and tracker style seats. What are people's preferences on this?

2b - as an alternative battery location is the small flat steel hoop in the frame under the seat wide enough to handle a small battery?

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts

I've been working on a prototype tracker seat for the Ace over the weekend after getting a couple of requests. Trim is just a quick mockup at the moment, will get it trimmed professionally if anyone is interested in them. Like the other seat it would be made to bolt straight onto the original Skyteam mounts.

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts - Tracker Seat ready to order!

Thanks Joseph, first tracker seat was bolted on by its new owner last week, very happy with it from what we've been told.

Re: Skyteam Ace custom parts - Tracker Seat ready to order!

Finally got around to powdercoating some hugger rear guard brackets and confirming guard prices for the OEM guard. Final pricing is $60 for a full set of brackets, bolts and instructions. To minimise costs guards can be ordered direct from your Ace dealer or distributor, I have been quoted around $100 including shipping for a front guard to Melbourne.

Hey man, still keen for the flat seat and hugger combo.
I'm looking online for the front guard, they all seem to be silver ..am I looking in the wrong places or would I need to get it painted?
Would you guys do it with guard included?
Oh and how did you mount the rear lights? Is it bolted to the seat?

The seat is designed to take a bracket which will accept the factory indicators (at a width to meed Australian Standards), a vintage style taillight and numberplate. The light setup is the same as that shown on our prototype cafe seat below.

You are correct the guard is only available in silver from the factory. We painted ours black to blend in with the tyre, but it would look just as good silver to match the front guard. Whereabouts are you located? The only reason I recommend buying the guard direct is do save doubling up on shipping costs in having the guard shipped here, then to you.

If you're keen send me an email info@suus.com.au and I can work out a rough shipping cost, for the lot including guard, my biggest concern is making sure the guard is adequately packaged for the trip up but I'm sure something can be arranged.
