Oh and just to get a vote... should I stick with the sl fuel tank (and add some knee dents) or should I switch out? my idea was to use a cb200 tank with some knee dents. but the stock tank is growing on me. (I will not be keeping the stock seat; it is way to high and bulky).

I think if you raised the rear of the tank an inch or two it woukd give the bike.much nicer lines. Tha to looks like a great tank in the pics

The 200 tanks look "racier". SL tanks are too short for the traditional "cafe" look. Ether way, please don't hammer knee dents in. Those are both cool and rare tanks and knee dents aren't needed on a bike of this size.

Agreed! No knee dents. Either tank would look great. Personally the 200 is my choice

I would also not hammer in the tank. the thing I hate about the SL tanks is how narrow they are. especially compared to the seat. I will be using my stock tank only because mine is a budget build but I agree that there are better options. The Cb200 tank I don't like. I have had two of those and I just dont like the rubber insert thing. I think it's ugly. But if you can get one of those suzuki gs tank, the long form ones with the knees area already indented from the factory, might be neat. long tank small seat. bikes looks like its coming along nicely tho.

Not easy to find by any means, but look for a Yamaha RD60 tank. Amazing looking for sure.

SL100 - Summer fun.

Things are moving along got the new grips and perches on. Bars painted etc. exhaust painted and wrapped. Waiting for carb rebuild kit from my slanted eye friends overseas. Here is how going to do the seat really thin and brown. No traditional cafe hump. Especially since I'm not racing it and I don't want to put alot of money into it. Right now I'm in it about 225$ total. Bike 175$ grips 10$ 25$ perches 15$ exhaust wrap. W the carb kit ill be up to 250$. Well within my budget.
I think I want to paint it a washed out blue w a black pinstripe. If not maybe a Mercedes silver. I wanna keep the wheels polished. No black wheels those time.

You really don't want to push your forks up through the triples that far. Handling will be awful and you'd need to measure, but it looks like hitting a big enough pothole would bottom them out on the lower tree. Thats bad. Very bad. I believe that CB/CL forks may be shorter.

thats actually what im looking for. CB forks. This was more for looks. IN the end I hope to find a set of cb forks. Im wondering if the 100 and 125 share the same part number in the CB.
