Ok, so... I've been out for a while. My work space got invaded by my sister-in-law lol. so now back to the build process. I have not quite gotten anywhere on the build but am now putting together a list or build guide if you will together. I have so far picked up some very nice woodcraft 31mm clip-ons, and a 1978 xl175 top tree for my sl175. I am looking at options for possibly a single carb setup for my bike. From my experience, a single carb feeding a twin will make it run a hell of allot smoother and could possible help with performance. I know allot of guys do this conversion on quads and what not and it seemed to make the bikes run smoother and better. Any opinions guys?

Not a good idea. Most two into one manifolds are poorly designed, at best. There is a reason performance engines use individual throttle bodies.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. As an Automotive tech. I kinda already thought that one carb into two cylinders would not be the best. From my thought it would require a much larger I'm guessing around a 40mm carb to be able to get basically the same performance as stock 2 carb. Was kinda just throwing that out there as a what if... and maybe see if anyone has tried it. From my experience with bmw (cars... mainly older e30's and e36) the individual throttle bodies are found on the s14 (e30 m3) and the s54 (e46 m3)which are some of the best for road course, up hill/ down hill, auto-x racing that bmw has to offer (not to mention many other amazing designs like the 2002, e21 320i or the euro 323i. Also allot of high performance cars use individual t-bodies or carbs. But enough with 4 wheel contraptions, back to bikes. I've read allot of threads talking about boring and stroking... What would be the optimal upgrade to a 175? I hear no larger than 1mm stock and maybe a Tertronix Ignition (correct me on my spelling or pronunciation) would be the best.
Any In-site or suggestions are very welcome. I am not afraid to say I don't know everything. Actually I know much less than many lol

Sorry I tend to write books when I've been sipping on IPA :D
