any pics on the build for the sets? the knee dents look good but yeah just primer it real quick so it doesn't rust. the paint looks good. the guys are right about the dyna gold. it works great and holds better in my opinion.

sorry, i have no pics of the rearsets during the build. :(

Re: cb350 project steel reserve 211

Its just me, but I don't like taillights that stick out, they always look like after thoughts. If it was me, I would hide the body of the light inside the tail and just have the lens on the outside. Also, the license plate bracket would be secured inside the tail and just peek out from the bottom, just think it would be neater that way.

Guess it would depend on if you want to cut your seat or not.

I question whether there's room to tuck the light back much further. It looks like the plate holder is about as far in as it can go w/o hitting the seat.

Re: cb350 project steel reserve 211

I try and find a way to mount that light flush. Maybe remove the plate bracket and mount the plate some where else?

Just bolting it up there is gonna look like poo!

could mount your plate like this?

Re: cb350 project steel reserve 211

yeah, i thought about mounting the plate on the side also. i would love to french in the light, but me doing things backwards half the time i painted the seat all up nice. i am afraid of ruining the nice tail and starting over. maybe sell the lamp and find something with a lower profile?

ok guys, need some tank ideas for the paint. i mounted the tank and now i keep satring at this baby trying to picture it flying down the road. red, silver, red and black, red and silver, etc. lets hear it. thanks -brian

Re: cb350 project steel reserve 211

red with black pinstriping... every place the pinstriping crosses (creating a boxed in area) put in some silver.

should look custom as shit, plus have a nice 70's feel to it =D

or maybe red with the tank dents outlined in black, with the dents being silver.

Re: cb350 project steel reserve 211

I do like the idea of doing the tank and seat in red. would be nice to take a pin stripe up from the base line of the seat up the length of it and then have that stripe outline the tank dent. reason i never like to have something go completely around the tank dentsis they are are never perfect and that would show that off, where if you can accecent them you will never see the imperfections. i suck at photo shop all i have is paint here in the office so i made do... but after i finished i think it would look better if you where to flip it, and ahve the coil around the number on the back and the stripe on the lower portion of the tank...

some progress on the old cafe.... think it came out pretty well

Re: cb350 project steel reserve 211

Great work. The red headlight ring is a nice addition. JRK has a nice idea of a stripe, too. That would tie in the whole thing. Keep it up. The silver frame is sweet.
