Slotted barrel?

Installed big bore kit this week. Original 125cc barrel had a slot cut in the bottom but the replacement did not. I wonder if it is for some splash lubrication? Anyone else notice this? Mine is a 2015 model. I notice people here who have done the conversion and posted pics don't have the slot. What gives? :-\

Done nearly 700km with it like that. Just did 1000km service and all is well.

Nice 1 Bonester, glad its going well. Im going to do the 150 upgrade in the new year, does it really make much of a difference? Im thinking of just doin the barrel and piston and leaving standard head on. Any recommendations anyone? Cheers Dave

I'm happy with the big valve head - starts easy, idles well, as much grunt as can be expected.

Yeah bike really needs it. It goes better but still no powerhouse. Best thing I did was cat removal. $90 for a big bore kit- can't go past that!
