Agreed, Maybe time + posts? You have to have 100 posts and be a member for over 6 months. Also make being a "site supporter" a requirement also... That would slow it down a lot.
 
What about picture of your build pulled to pieces on the floor before you get the discount. That will either stop them or make for a lot more "I don't have time to finish my project" for sale bikes.
 
Never considered myself a Narc... but ya, I've PM'ed offenders and Cc'ed Tim and Herm as a heads up, bet those two hate messages like that always poppin up in their PM box. ::)

Maybe a prerequisit to have your own build thread here?
 
The DCC discount saved me about 20 dollars. but I also linked them the information for my build thread, and most of my 100 posts were in that thread. 50 meaningless posts in one day just comes off as spam and should be dealt with the same way. Into the bin for recycle

Hmmm. I don't have a build thread. I think it's well established that I make a lot of contribution to the forum, however. I just don't get into posting build threads.

Alpha, you are definitely a huge contributor to the site. Which is why I (and I am sure others) would like to see more of your work. I'm sure you have turned out some pretty inspirational stuff.

Few years back I was a member of a forum in the UK and you were put on a probationary membership...you could read all u want and pm members but weren't allowed to post for about 2 months...if you're new to any venture 2 months goes fast coz in the beginning you're jus looking for ideas and knowledge. Few ppl join forums knowing it all or even knowing a lot.
 
Back to the original post - I've been coming here for years, and I didn't even know you could get a 10% discount from DCC. Ah well.
 
i prefer the current method of being a dickface to new people. if you add rules then somebody has to moderate the forum more, and i don't get to say "fuck" nearly as often.
 
What's the point of pissing people 'you may in future ask advice from' off for the sake of saving 10 bucks....
 
Darn it! Too late... by my records I've already dropped close to $400 with DCC. I just like their stuff. Taking my posts to dollars ratio at this point it looks like I'm going to be spending another $2,428 before I can clip my coupon. :( I own a business and understand why companies offer discounts; that said I like to pay retail often just to support small businesses these days. :)

I believe that already is a prerequisite, you send herm an email with a link to get the discount.
