Smoke coming out of Breather Tube

Hey guys,
I just rebuilt my engine and after she's been running for al lil' bit I start seeing a little bit of faint white smoke coming from the breather tube, I also notice smoke seeming to be emanating (very lightly) from the points (that is to say where the cam is rotating) Now I cleaned this section of the motorcycle engine with WD-40 and such & I was curious whether or not it was just that burning off or something serious.

Normally when smoke is coming from there i've read its bad news bears, but I know freshly built engines tend to smoke for a the first few hours they are running.

For whats it worth, no oil is in the points sockets, and the spark plugs are looking good.
The gasket kit I used was from DCC for cb/cl350 70-73

Thanks Champions

Normal for a little smoke puffing out of the breather. Whatever blowby there is, and a little oil mist is normal. This is why the breather generally goes to an airbox so that those fumes go into the engine and get burned rather than being released to atmosphere.

Smoke from the points chamber is not normal, but if you had sprayed WD40 in there, it could be the light mineral oil residue burning off.

Glad to help.
