Been Around the Block
so if I had a lot of money id recue more bikes like this

I paid way too much for this thing but at the time I hadn't really seen any in a while and snagged it.
its been a slow process

im almost done with this so I can concentrate on it again.here is how it sits now

I scored an rd engine from a customer that used to own a dealership so now ive got a six speed and a set of cases that
aren't ruined from sitting in the rain.

I recycled the wheels and spokes by wire wheeling them and am thinking about leaving the tank brushed.
ill try to add as much as I can and probably ask dumb questions as this thing gets closer to being done
im excited to get this one done, probably more excited than the cb being done.
I had gary @spec ii rebuild the r5 crank and from what ive read it will work in the rd cases.
getting ready to by bearings seals within the next couple of weeks so I can button up the engine. I didn't take pictures
of that cause you guys have already seen that process a zillion times.
leaving the cylinders stock except for cleaning up the ports because the liners cover them in some spotsi also scored some heads from ebay and was super stoked cause they were realy clean looking,ha when I got them the knuckle had glass beaded them and there was a tiny crack you couldn't see in the pictures.ive got a tig welder so im hopin someone
can tell me the process of repairing the crack
thanks for lookin
Rob

Carve the crack out with a di gringer and heat head in a cylinder head oven weld and remachine or throw 35 bucks at a new head or use your r5 heads

ive got an extra head so ill use it. I knew one of you two stroke guys would chime in,thank you. I was poking around to see if it was worth the experience to try and weld it my self. whose pipes do you recommend? gary at spec ii has me convinced his are the best ever but I don't want to lose 2 more hours of my life and have him tell me my deodorant smells like battery acid.lol. not planning on porting the cylinders, going to run a y boot w/k&n and 28 mm vm's
thanks rob
