So I got a CB360

In over my head
This is my first post and my first bike. I've been reading though the DTT boards trying to learn as much as I can and pick up some inspiration for the past week or so and figured it's time to quit lurking.

I'm fairly mechanical so most everything in the tear down has made sense so far, the electrical is a little scary to me, and the PO of the bike did some crazy stuff, but I'm just trying to label everything as I go and take a close look at the condition of harness once it is off the bike.

The bike lived in an open barn for the last 9 years so it's a little rough but not too far gone. My plan right now is to strip it to the frame and get it powder coated or enamel it myself, get it back together and running and then work on some of the more fun cosmetic stuff.

This is how I got it (I took off the carbs and battery box)

As I dig deeper I keep finding acorns, I think a family of squirrels might have lived in it

I'm happy to hear comments and input, thanks for looking.

Edit: fixed photos

I got it stripped down to the frame today; at least now all of my projects seem slightly more manageable.

Figuring out the wiring harness seems like it will be daunting. My plan is to look over it closely and clean the connectors, then use a multimeter to check continuity and replace single wires that need it. I thought about getting an NOS or less used harness but it seems like this will be cheaper and just as good. Thoughts?

One of the spark plugs is seized in the engine and broke off at the threads. I'm soaking it in PB blaster and hoping that I can get it out with an easy out. It's the top of the picture.

I'm also trying to figure out how best to clean the engine, I guess I should start by getting a gallon of simple green.

Cheers

Soda blasting works wonders for cleaning the engine, provided that's an option. Also, welcome aboard!

I would dilute it, at least to start with. Try a 1/3 or 50/50 solution and it that doesn't seem to be working you can try it full strength. I've cleaned some really manky bicycle parts with 1/3 strength simple green.
