Hey guys. Im from Thousand Oaks , CA. I really want to get into cafe bikes and this site jsut solidified my reserve. Cant wait to get a bike and start working on it . Oh yeah i found a cb500 on cl with a problem with first gear. I dunno we'll see but ill definatly get pics up one i find a suitable ride. holy balls. around here thats alot of dough for a bike with tranny problems... granted, the harley scene is big here and so is the sport bike... so vintage jap bikes are on the cheap. i wouldnt do it. possibly look around on ebay, and keep your ear to the ground on craigslist.

I defiantly agree with Brewtown...I bought a 98 R6 with a bad first gear for almost that much. If i were you I would cruise smaller areas on craigslist. heck if you have to drive an hour or two for a screaming deal its worth it.
