Sold my bike on ebay! WOOT!!!

He didn't understand that it was a reassembled bike with a brand new 2012 VIN. It was all explained in the lengthy description which included me urging those interested to contact me for questions. Thing is, he bid on it 4 times and never once contacted me. I'm totally bummed. The bike had almost 1100 views and 30 watchers. Nothing like getting your dick up and getting it slammed into the dirt. Ha!

You can offer the next highest bidder a Second Chance offer.

Yeah he can backout.

Vehicle sales on ebay are non-binding contracts, so you can choose not to buy or sell after the auction ends (Ive been stung just like you!)

Makes you look like an asshole when you dont accept to buy though. Id offer the second highest a second chance mate!

Yes, that's correct. The only thing I get out of it is a refund for insertion fees and to give a negative feedback. Whoop de doo. Now, who wouldn't wanna buy this wonderful piece of super funness. Is that a word?

It seems you guys settled this already, I know there is feature (fee based) in eBay to put something in super "BOLD", you won't what to go through this again.

This is one of the reasons sellers are fleeing Ebay. Their policies cater strongly to the buyer and giver the seller very little to stand on legally. The seller stands to lose much more than the buyer. Plus, they keep jacking up seller fees and double dip with their Paypal racket. I stopped selling big ticket stuff on there 3-4 years ago.

Best of luck to you. Good looking bike.

usually ebay buyers don't read ANYTHING as a rule... I put up a test listing of a fiberglass seat, and for looks I painted and upholstered it, then put in big bold letters, IN ALL THE PICTURES AND LISTING (paint and upholstery are shown for demo only)

every question I got had to do with the upholstery or paint.

There was this case on the people's court where a guy a bike bought knowing it didn't have a title, got bill of sale only and he went to the DMV, his state doesn't accept bill of sale and therefore could not register the bike, the judge made the seller return the money.

Well, this bike is totally legal, titled with a new VIN, registered, plated, and insured. It was a long process including two inspections (before and after registration) by the same State Trooper. I was certain the nosy neighbors were gossiping when the Trooper and I sat in his cruiser for an hour going over invoices and inspecting the bike in my garage. I bet there was talk of a chop shop going on! Ha!

Sorry for your frustrations. Tell me about your bike, looks like a beauty.

I bought a salvaged XB9SX with a lot of parts to rebuild an SX, but upon tear down, the only things useable were the speedo, rear wheel/sprocket/belt, right side controls, and the lower half of the engine. I foolishly decided to piece one together only into an XB9R, the way I felt a Buell should have looked in the beginning. So, 3 years later, this is what I came up with. No other Buell on the road like it and all without making it look bizarre IMO. Gets lots of attention. People see it and hear it and think "WTF is that rumbling down the road???" :) Like the drilled out sprocket covers and controls? Cafe inspired, baby.

The buyer sucks. He hemmed and hawed about the KBB and that the bike is listed as a '12 (titled as a reassembled motor vehicle with new 2012 VIN) and described as an '05. I was so disgusted I just told him to forget the whole freakin' thing. I won't give him a negative hit even though I have a right to. Bastard.

This is reasons enough I don't sell (and rarely buy) things on ebay.. Craigslist and locally is the way to go. Just sucks if you don't live in or near a bigger city so understandable. But I have a hard enough time committing to a purchase by just pictures (often doctored or misleading) alone. The internet is a sad place sometimes.

The first thing I ever sold on fleabay was my sports car. Since then, I've sold 4 Japanese sport bikes and one Buell. Of course, non of them were salvaged or reassembled. I have never had any problems except for one jerk off who told me my Buell was the ugliest bike he'd ever seen. I figured buyers would be skittish of the reassembled title and new VIN, but I never expected anyone to bid and then retract. Messin' with my emotions, man!
