I am selling my Hooker Headers CB/CL350 scrambler setup. I purchased this exhaust off ebay. It had some rust etc and wasn't in the best shape. I cut the stock can off because it was missing it's baffle and the reverse cone and was kinda rusty. I purchased a brand new EMGO short reverse cone muffler and found that it was EXACTLY the same dimensions as the stock one... keeping the look appropriate. I slid it further forward on the header to make it clear my rear shock and used a 3pc clamp for the lower support. Its very solid when mounted. YOU CAN NOT RUN YOUR SIDE COVER ON THE EXHAUST SIDE WITH THIS PIPE CAUSE OF CLEARANCE ISSUES.
I sprayed the headers with hi-temp matte black, and then wrapped them with black header wrap and sealed with black silicone wrap sealer. They look GREAT!... but my bike was lowered and because of the way the header routes it was getting into the back of my fender under hard braking and it rubbed through the header wrap and messed up the new powdercoat on the fender. I will include header wrap to fix it if you want to. But it's not that bad really.
THESE PIPES SOUND AWESOME. They rumble without being stupid loud like my open headers were.
The header has some internal rust and its a little on the thin side. I did them up and figured they would still work for me for a few seasons and then I was planning on having them replicated in stainless steel. This is the only CB/CL350 Hooker scrambler pipe I have ever come across.
But I love the look of my bike low and so I am going back to the stock 2-into-2 non-scrambler CB setup. If you run your 350 at stock height this is the pipe to have. I am really tempted to hang onto it... but I don't really need MORE parts laying around.
