Sonic's 68 CB350 Build (almost done, tuning)

I'd start by double checking ignition timing at full advance. The left plug isn't getting very hot and that could be retarded ignition or too rich. Right almost looks like it has too much advance on that side but the photo needs to be much sharper to confirm that hypothesis.

Once the timing is exactly the same - and I mean plus/minus 1 or 2 degrees side to side, fit a pair of new plugs and repeat the chop.

Thanks teazer,
Really appreciate your input.

I've got the static timing perfect, don't have a timing light so not sure at full advance. I guess I'll be picking one up.

Got new points and condenser sitting at the post office per your recommendation. Well see how that helps

hey, not to threadjack, but i'm at the tuning part of the process myself on a 70... can you use a timing light on these bikes? wouldn't the oil just piss out everywhere if you ran the thing at high enough rpm to get full advance with the alternator cover off?

Still in need of a front fork brace but otherwise I think she's about finished.

Your bike looks great! I'm envious! My first street bike (many many years ago) was this same bike ... a 1968 CB350. I'm actually looking for one now but the best I can find is a 74.
