That seat and tank look great man!! What did you use for a seat pan and does it have a curve to it or is it a flat pan? I'm thinking of having a pro do the seat for my R5 I did one myself and for a first attempt it came out great and would hold up under light scrutiny but am considering having a pro re-do it for me. I actually just used a piece of plywood for the pan but am considering fabbing a fiberglass one with a bit of a curve to it to help with the wheel clearance problem I'm having.
My seat pan is a mix of plywood and steel. The back section (where no weight will be placed) is steel and has a bend in it to contour to the rear hoop. It looks flat in the pictures because it is not fastened down. I just laid it on the bike to snap a pic and get an idea of the overall look. Hope this helps and look forward to see what you come up with.
Got more parts in and was able to mock up some parts for the time being.
Roccity spitfire headlight bucket came in. Just need the proper headlight ring and she'll be ready to prep/paint
XS650 rear wheel came in as well and got it laced up. Hope to have it trued up so I can prep it for some epoxy paint
Mikuni VM30s came in today from oemcycle.com Couldn't find a cheaper price anywhere and they had fast shipping. Just need to order some jets to play around with and a motion-pro throttle cable.
Anybody have a good source for mikuni jets and any advice for a stock cb350 that'll run pod filters and a 2-2 exhaust with megaphones (no baffling?)
Still deciding on paint for the tank at this point as well.
Hey, if you're still looking for jets, I found them for like $3.00 and bought a bunch of sizes. I'll have to look through receipts to see if I can find the website. I just searched Mikuni jets and it was a site that popped up in the results.
