Playing at the Blues Festival
Good morning!
In the process of getting ideas for my wife's first bike (a '77 CB400F in average to below-average condition) I stumbled across this board. Some nice rides coming from you folks. I look forward to exchanging ideas with y'all. A little background: I and my bride are in our mid-forties. She's new to motorcycling (in the 3 years we've been together, I've already managed to corrupt her) while I have more than a quarter century in the motorcycle industry. I was a mechanic at an independent shop in the DC area for many years, raced AHRMA flat track, and have completed two Iron Butt rallies. This isn't my first bike build, or even my first cafe project. But it IS my wife's FIRST BIKE, and we all know how important that is. Also, having gotten out of the wrenching business to pursue my first love, Blues guitar, I no longer have access to some of the fabrication facilities or cheap parts that I once took for granted. I thought this might be a good place to find others with information on where to find certain things (for example, a good header -- the stock head pipes are half-crushed from having been dropped repeatedly.
