Hey folks...

So I am getting frustrated painting my frame n tank for the Bonneville project, and it looks like I am still waiting for my top end to get back from the machinist (fak).

I did some searching around online and a bunch of forums are saying Spectrum Powdercoating is a great (and inexpensive) spot to get your stuff done. Has anyone here used them, or know a good person to talk to there? Any advice would be appreciated.

I've used Byers Bush in Etobicoke for my frame etc. and some other work. Just basic work - they're an industrial shop with an assembly line for doing wire shelving etc. but they do a lot of motorcycle and furniture work.

What colors are you looking at? You want the tank coated as well?

I paid $240 for a frame, 2 swingarms and a bunch of small brackets a couple years back, all in gloss black at Byers Bush. Call and ask for Maria (if she doesn't answer the phone).

i'm lookin at gloss black.

the guys on the other car/bicycle forums that mentioned spectrum with good reviews. they were getting bicycle frames done for 20-60 bux, 75-125 for custom colors.

the car guys were getting rims done for 120 for 4 rims.. i'm inclined to get the tank done too if its that inexpensive.. but never heard of anyone doing a tank before so i was curious of anyone had done that before..

what are ur thoughts?

$30-$50 clams a hook seems to be the average charge for p/c. just make sure you get some high temp silicone tape and mask things yourself. I can't comment on Spectrum's quality but I'll say that poor p/c is a a real pain to remove.
