I have a GS1100E '83 (stock frame) that currently has GSXR 750 front and rear wheels/tires. and the forks as well. (You may have seen my other entries-the bike is in pieces and ishe is waiting for my return-LOL!)I am currently wanting to exchange the wheels for spoked option. One they IMHO look so cool and well they just look so cool. The bad thing is I am here in AFGHANISTAN and don't have the exact specifics in front of me. I am stock piling info and "stuff,' for my return...I have seen and read several cafe's that have changed for the spokes. My question is, based on what I have described, has anyone or can anyone recommend a spoked combination for the bike (or a place who can either sell or spool them). I want to keep the stock tire size and just need to know where and whom I can contact to get them going(made). Thanks folks
Thanks to all...I am so Jazzed about getting back, to get back on track....It was kinda started before I bought it. It is a '83 GS1100E (red) with GSXR forks, cast wheels front and rear. It just doesn't look right and I think the spoked wheels will look great. I'll do thew seat and other issues as well. Goin to do the clip on thingee too...Gognito Moto looks like the one. Now just have to contact them and see what I need to do. I suppose I'll give them my current tire size and have them put them together. I want basically have a bolt on issue...with the current brakes etc. So here's keeping my fingers crossed. I'll contact them tomorrow. As far as keeping my head down, yep! People being lost everyday...but thats another subject. Wished I was home but I am here and have a job to do. Thanks guys for your support. That was well recieved.
Now there is a plan. I really need to get back and look at the tire to get the the wheel size...seems to be a mystery but not really...I think I'll get it right yet. Just need to know whom I need to ask! And seems I have found the ones here!
If you're buying new hubs and having spoke wheels made, the tire sizes kg the GSXR wheels dont really matter.DDetermine the wheels YOU want to run and go from there.
