Spoked Wheels: Rims & Spokes

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a larger front rim size (19 to 21") and corresponding spokes for my SR250.

Can you recommend any shops in Sydney or online that supply spokes, rims and the alike?

I keep hearing Chris Squire's name pop up. Has anyone had experience with them before?

Cibby - No probs, I'll share everything on this page.

Heard one bad story
"No offence to Chris but he stuffed me around for months finally picked my rims up untouched and then I had to wait a month to get my deposit back. Go and see Doug Chivas at chivas in granville will do them in a couple of days. Curly" - Curly001

Been having a fishy experience with Squire pre-sale. I have contacted him thrice over the past 5 months. The first was general advice where he talked about prices (I didn't ask), the second a no reply, the third an ambiguous quote "roughly $300" (but for what?). Each time he insists I see him (long 2 hour drive) and drop off my wheels. Probably won't be doing that anymore incase I lose a deposit.

Ash from Ash's Spoked Wheels Brisbane seem alright. Nice guy, spoke with me for a while over the phone to help out.

MikeXS seems to sell spokes as well. Not sure which ones fit.

Having difficulty remembering what brand my stock rims were. Should have noted it down before painting over them. Hmm Radaelli or Takasago?

Buchanan Spokes - Another name that pops up a lot. Any experiences?

They don't have my rim/hub on their website, so I assume it will need to be custom made. They're overseas which means more for postage...

Get an XT or DT front wheel, 350 for disc, 125~175 for drum.
Cheap and easy
It should bolt straight in

Hummingbird,

If you don't take PJ's option, I will go and see Squires next week.
I only live 10 Mins away.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks for the info too, and thanks PJ. You are a wealth of knowledge :)
