when we do need a filler bud we use a product called metal lab, it is a bit tricky to get used to but once you have practiced a bunch with it, it works great... bit stuff we will weld and grind or braze
ahh man! ohhh man! At dr appointment with the wife... and i get these pics from Tim in the shop... this guy is insane with metal man... simply unreal. we where talking last night about a few things i did not care for on the bike but was kind of stumped on what to do... he took my brake pedal (with knuckle from Loner industries) and said he would try to play with it today... look how sick this is... the arm will be coated in gloss black and the knuckle in blue
durring the crash the floor board supports where destroyed... rather than buy new a bead was laid on them and then it was ground off so that the peg would have a stop again
well was able to sneak into the shop for a day and finish the fabrication work with Tim... bike is now back home and i will start assembly on it between nap time hahaha
primary and inner off
parts table set up
swing arm is strait broken bolt removed
well tonight's assembly plans come to a screeching halt! just realized the parts guy at HD gave me the wrong primary cover... this is the 4th time they have provided the wrong gaskets... man i even bring them parts numbers how do they screw that up! but they do, over and over... why they put the young kids that know shit about bikes behind the parts counter is beyond me... ooh well it is what it is... got the swing arm on, tq'd down... rear wheel and belt tq'd and alligned, inner primary on, guts all in there... few more things and this side of the bike is done
getting there!!! just about done... few more hours of work and we will be on the road again!!!
well just have to get the seat back form the upholstery shop, my buddy is slinging some stitching for me... add the floor boards and shifter and she is ready to rock
well stopped in this morning to snag my seat on the way into work... i am very very pleased... may have him tuck in the corners right above the shock mounts but other than that i am very very happy with how it came out... and 3 day turn around that is why i use him, does great work!
i will tomorrow... i have been so slammed wiht the baby and work in the shop that i have actually only got to put 4 miles on the bike since it has been done... man i forgot how fast this sucker is after the changes i made to the motor set up in the spring! just a blast... i had to get a new 2012 wide glide torn down yesterday for powder so i was on it and could not ride... ill get some pics up ASAP!
Haha.....yeah they are dollahs. I like'm enough though that I'm thinkingabout trying my hand at mold making, inspired by the Bucos but tweeked a little. Internalized seal, hidden hinges and clasps. We'll see....it's on the list...
