I ordered them straight from K&N

I must warn you though, there is a great debate on these, and many say that the K&N's don't allow a triple to breathe right...I don't know...yet.
 
Yeah but they are shiny and Purty! I think makes it faster and adds 10HP! What are most guys running Foam Pods?

Yup... pods.
 
UNI's are pretty popular now... About 1/3 of the cost of K&N's and less restrictive.
There have been guys that have had issues with filters with a flat back plate with tuning... Apparently it has something to do with the reversion wave on a piston port 2 stroke
 
I hate it when every time I go to post in my build thread, there's a red warning at the top saying "this topic has not been posted in for 30 days." Damn! I really am taking my time on this.

I had some time to fiddle with the bike today and after several hours of diagnosing my electrical woes, I got her to go a little. First kick she fired and ran.... only on 2 of 3 cylinders but I will take that!!!!!!

UNI seem to flow OK but it's important to check to see if they obscure any jets or ports. On GT750 they can be a problem.
 
I run just the sock that is hose clamped to the intake horn but the rubber flange I removed only had a 1/16" lip that would seat against the horn face... At least with a triple it wouldn't be an issue as the I.D. If the Uni is still bigger than the inlet.
Are you referring to the port on the bottom of the CV carbs intake causing issues?
 
straight UNIS were not too bad but the 15 degree angled ones had quite a significant lip. BS40 CV carbs ahve two air jet ports and the piston port fairly close to the edge and the inner lip partially obscures them all.
