SR250 stalls when clutch pulled in

I need some help finding fault.
It is SR250 with open exhaust and pod filter. Pod filter is fitted onto old air hose to eliminate turbulence. Carb is rejeted, plug is dark brownish. Throttle response is ok trough all ranges.
Bike starts with a blip of throttle. It idles at 1300-1500 when fully warmed. Clutch cable checked and adjusted.
Problem occurs when I pull clutch while riding. RPMs start to fall below 1300 and then dies.
It starts right up after that. There are no air leaks. Flow height is ok also.
What to check next? I'm desperate and it is embarrassing to stall on red light from time to time.
Only way to avoid stalling is bliping throttle while stopping.

Is there a de-compression cable on your bike? Maybe it's a bit tight? Otherwise, i would just give er a bit more idle. -It's probably a bit rich, as the plug needs to be lightbrown, like coffee with milk.

Hi Bert,
There is no de-compression thingie on SR250. It's a bit rich in idle? Hmm gonna try with smaller pilot and see if it happens.

cheers

Hi, If your bike is idling OK in neutral, and stalling when in first with the clutch held in, it sounds like your clutch is not fully disengaging. Adjust your clutch so that it bites (in first) when the lever is about halfway released.

Oh snap, completely misunderstood the openingpost. that could be it ofcourse..

It is adjusted that way. Anyway I screwed idle mixture one turn in, adjusted idle screw a bit to get it on 1300 rpm and voila, no more stalling.
