SR400 build in Brisbane Australia

Picked up this bike cheap (for obvious reasons) so getting pulled down today and starting the rear end/lug removal.

Got it down to the frame today.

Cut all the extraneous bits off and cleaned up welds. Time for powdercoat!

Just finished lacing up the wheels and having the rims powdercoated too.

Here's the engine after being soda-blasted and then painted. While I was at it I checked valves etc!

Hah yeah you're right. It doesn't look too bad in the photo but it was not in good shape. Cracks in paint, rust on chrome and lots of fuel leaks. The SR's are popular in oz so can be hard to find cheap.

g'day dude, don't mean to be rude but is that frame really as brown as the photo suggests ????????? maybe that queensland suns got to you.......LOL

No if anything I think it's more brown. More chocolatey anyway. Yep hell of a gamble as the bike goes in to a show next weekend but we'll see:/

Got the SR into a roller today and threw the engine in. Looked around for a set of clip ons and realized I'd left both sets at the workshop:/

I dig it. The headlight looks a bit odd to me. Perhaps lower it and bring it back. It's sticking out pretty far.

I agree! Unfortunately I've powdercoated the hangers but will need to find smaller ones and also ones that are for a 6 inch headlight rather than 7!! Ahhh never ending lol

Hey scrambledpegs. The tyres are dunlops.. K80's I think but the front I got the stickier version of. Retail for about $260 for the pair.yeah a nebo ride sounds good.

Trying to decide on bent or straight manifold. Last shot before it gets pulled down again to fix dodgy powdercoating.
