Starter prob

My 76 Honda 360 start with kickstart;however, when push start is press, starter turn but does not turn the engine. Please help. Thanks

Have you checked to see if the starter is actually connected to the starter chain and gear and isn't just spinning freely?

Take the left side cover off and have a look...
