Been Around the Block
whatever you want to call it. it sucks. any stories of your bike or friends bikes being jacked.

i was talking to my neighbor and his buddy. his friend who is a cop in long beach here. said people use to go around for a while and throw some pipes in the frame and just straight lift the bike up and take it. that is messed up. my friend got jacked at gun point one night walking out of his girls house and just watched his bike roll off with someone else. i have had my fixed stolen from my backyard when i was bbq that was wack.

any ways you guys lock up your bikes.

lets hear some stories

when i worked in a shop i nor-cal i saw pics of a guys station wagon that'd had a full bagger harley dragged over its hood and roof to get it outta the garage where he parked it.
if they want it bad enough, they'll get it no matter what you've got for security.
of coarse they gotta want it pretty bad to contend with boxers and colts ;D

I keep my bike in my garage shop, its a locked room within my locked garage but just to be safe I made sure that when the shady kids down the street walk that i was cleaning my shotgun with my pit and my akita sitting next to me. They dont walk past my garage anymore :)

You could always ride like this

that is my dream and subsequently my new back ground...because in the lawless wasteland of americas highway system man must make his own justice...sometimes with a tire iron

hahaha you yankees kill me (or could...in the middle of the highway..in the passing lane...with a glock??)

actually i am not sure where i stand on gun laws really. But that last pic reminds me of Mad Max or some shit! That is badass

Not too worried about my bike getting stolen in Toronto. Old bikes are of no value to thieves. Late model sportbikes get stolen the most, especially from underground condo garages.

Here's some solid gold shit - I was sitting eating food in the grass with some friends on Saturday on Bathurst just north of Bloor. My bike was parked across the road from me and this minivan stops right in front of it, this shady guy gets out and all I see from that distance is that a ramp comes out. From the stories I've heard, that's how it happens, right? 20 seconds and theyre out of there. So I'm flying from a block away towards him with a fist, thinking "I'm going to wind up for a whole block and punch your facial features clean off of your head"...and I get there...
...
...
...and it's a fucking WHEEL-TRANS MINIVAN taking an OLD LADY in a WHEELCHAIR out!
...so I kicked her in the stomach - no. Long story short, I'm a fucking DORK, but I was ready for war.

The End.

i reckon if someone decided to steal my old honda instead of the cars or vintage vespa i own, or the newer cars my parents own that are parked in the driveway, than that thief is one dumb sob :)

i run gp shift on my 450 for good measure too, to confuse folk :D

pbussey, i was going to find and post that pict, thanks for doing it instead :)

Bmpaul02, thats hilarious, i have answered the door with my shotgun a couple of times, i get the same look on peoples face every time :D  and sometimes a brown spot on the driveway :D

That's a common occurance in Myrtle Beach . Not with a pipe though . Guys would drive around in the back of pickups and look for bikes not chained down ( sportbikes mostly ) and they'd stop , jump out , literally the 2-3 guys would lift the bike up into the truck and just go. Took like 10-15 seconds . Frickin crazy .

where are you from? England? Guns are prevalent in the US. Some people like to ignore the fact they are everywhere, but in reality someones grandma might be packing. I live in Florida, Miami to be specific...and I'm a transplant from Los Angeles. I'd say guns are more out in the open here compared to Los Angeles. I never really worried much out there, but here people are messed up...so I avoid any altercations in traffic situations. I wouldn't put it past most people here to pull a gun on me. I had a friend get beaten with a motorcycle chain because of a traffic scuffle. He wound up with two shatterred knees and tib/fibulas, broken arm, rib, and a cracked skull.

I'm confused here now...what's GP shift?

people hide shit out here all day and the ones you have to worry about are the young dumb kids that will try to prove something by pulling a gun out on you. this shit is wack. i don't want a gun but shit is hitting the fan so i rather be ready. but yeah fuck theives. i was chillin in front of a bar down the street one time and a guy on the other side of the street had his bike outside. i say this guy just roll up wave his hand and a mini truck rolled up and the bike was gone i just sat there saying damn.

the story on the lady in the wheelchair is funny. there has to be more stories out there

Haha, yeah miami is a crazy place to ride/drive/exist! No joke, I've been waiting at intersections there and seen guys standing around with guns tucked in their pants, still in plain sight. Driving down I-95 to the Keys I've seen people with pistols laying in their passenger seat. My brother used to carry concealed a lot when he rode, but now he's a federal officer so he can carry it wherever whenever::) I myself am guilty of a situation like that pic tho.... Several years ago my truck was in the shop and some freinds and I wanted to go shoot some shells. I got many odd looks going down the road with a pistol grip mossberg on my back - but it is hicksville north carolina, so....

I had no idea miami was that bad. I'm in CA, but in the SFV. Not many thugs out there, but shit does happen. My friend got jumped before. Two of them actually. One got hit on the head, and got his iPhone stolen. The other got jumped by three guys, broke his leg, and took his iPod touch. I guess Apple products out here are more wanted than vintage motorcycles lol. But on a serious note, you can never be safe anywhere.
