Suddenly I'm doubting my new build

I definitely think you should keep going with the SSSA. Here's a shot of my 350 with a Ducati Monster S4R swingarm very similar to the MH900.

@Finnigan - Thanks! It's very much a work in progress. Currently it's just in a mockup state right now. It's going to take quite a bit of frame modification to make it work. I'll be posting more when I start the build thread.

oh ok, I've always been a fan of this seat from DCC

I like that seat on it. I also like the Orange or more of a copper color. I'd go with that style of seat in metal with a brown pad and the tail painted to match the tank.

That's a sweet looking mock up Sailer! Do you have a build thread going on that one, and what rear shock did you decide to use?

@1969Honda - Thanks!

You can check out the thread here -> http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=56358

The shock is the stock ducati monter shock that goes with the swingarm.

I think it looks good, man. I do agree a different (read: lighter looking) swingarm would be better, however.

How about brown with dark grey/gunmetal? 8)

I left the camera at home, but i'll bring it in tomorrow and take a pic of just that combination on a bike we are doing right now.

BTW, that seat on the bike we built came from http://caferacerseatandtank.com/ You may have seen Ian on some episodes of Cafe Racer TV. Tell'em Charlie sent ya. (no, not the tuna!)

WOW AVG just went mad with that URL. Something about Black Hat SEO. Anyone else get that?

Charlie, this isn't meant as a criticism of that nice bike, but is a general question that it prompts me to ask. Why are we seemingly locked in to small round tail lights stuck in the middle of a seat hump.

On a round seat, it may make sense but with squarer seat or other shapes, can't we collectively come up with some different/interesting light arrangements. On the Phat Trakka for example I used a modern integrated Yamaha R6 LED light mounted upside down to work with the shape of the seat hump.

I'm no design/style maven so there must be better ideas out there.

I agree with you Teazer, I've actually been playing with the idea of and upside down SV100 LED tail light with integrated turn signals by Clear Alternatives to go on the CB350 when I get back to it. I'm not trying to down play anybody's design or fabrication skills by any means but the round light on a flat seat just look like an after thought to me. I think its always interesting to see how a builder comes up with their own solutions. Little Horse Cycles for instance has a great custom light that he made from an LED Cadillac lens if I remember correctly that flows with the shape of the seat cowl quite beautifully.
