Superdream to Bratthingy ?

Big fat northern bastard here  Just picked up a 250 Wetdream up in a million pieces with the intention of doing a bit of a tracker jobby on it. I know its not the sexiest or most powerful of bikes but it were cheap ;D
I've done a few Aprilia rebuilds in the past and just a done full hit on a Trx but never anything as old or out of a few boxes before. I never took it apart so jeebus h corbet its gonna be ard. Come to think of it the last Onda I owned was a maggot and I was 17 an a arf,,,,,,,a lonnng time ago.

Here she is, slowly going to become The FatTracker ::)

So expect plenty of stupid questions and feel free to advise or take the piss in equal measures cheers 8)

Re: Ey up

Nice, if this is the 250 version of the 400/450 hawks in NA you'll be fine. They are super easy to work on. Welcome to the site.

Re: Ey up

Cheers chaps.

This was it.

Most of the stuff is in pretty good nick, just slight rust and furring in a few places. Looks pretty fool proof tbh 8)

Re: Ey up

Yep, any of the 400/450 stuff will likely bolt right up to that even the engine I believe the 250 is just sleeved down version of the 400/450. CM400 was my first bike, blew it up and then tore it to the frame and put it back together. Very easy bikes to learn to wrench on and a lot of maintenance etc. can be done without pulling the motor. You can do a complete top end on these right in the frame.

Re: Ey up

Not really done much tbh, been let down badly by a welder so its away with a hopefully more reliable chap. Mostly been cleaning and fettling small stuff ready for when it comes back.
Anyway, I spend so much time on here looking at everyone else's stuff I thought I'd post a picture
Just after I sawed most of the tabs and bits off I nailed it together for a visual,, anyone spot the deliberate mistake :-\

I love the tank, but had to beat the crap out of it inside to get it over the main rail and that exposed a tonne of filler and a gaping hole on the front lip. I was expecting to strip, fill, mend and repaint it but the fucker said it was solid and unmolested,,,,,,,,cock. Gave the seller a brace of fucks and got a decent refund so I'll get it mended. The k3-4 250/350 tanks seem pretty rare in the UK and petcocks and caps are expensive. What can you do though, Taliskered up, saw it, loved it, bought it ::)

Re: Ey up

Well, I've been busy getting no where really. Been let down badly by 2 so called welders.
Got the frame done pretty much meself, got it and the wheels powder coated. Had to cut a load of the tanks tunnel out to get it over the bulge in the frame, should have it back soon from my mate. Put CX yokes on so I can move the forks. Made a seat and our kid covered it, I asked for black so he did it red . Ordered a load of bits n bobs and have just started nailing it back together. Its morphing in to some kind of retro enduro scrambler traily trialy thing. Its been a nightmare tbh as Superdream stuff is a bit quirky specific to that bike, plus I've never worked on such an old bike since I were a sprog. I can see where its going though and I'm pretty chuffed with it.
Anyroad, here's some crappy phone pictures of where I'm up to.

Next to do is longer rear shocks, or top mounts. Nail all the footpegs and levers on and put the wiring on.

Don''t know what the hell is wrong with my phone :(

Well its nearly done. Been a pita tbh. Had a right pallava with the tank, needed the tunnel cutting out, welding back etc. Been fucked about rotten by Hagon over the rear shocks. Just waiting for the new seat I made to be covered and the zorrst to arrive really. Started easy enough and runs sweet. The red seat in the pic is gone, new one on the way but black.
Anyroads, a pic.

Nearly done. Seat needs sorting where it meets the tank and the carbs fetling fot foam filters.

Thanks, first time I've ever done anything like this and I'm pretty chuffed with how its turned out.
