Suzuki GR650 - back to work...

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

I don't know, I do like the spokes but I think if you blacked out those mags it would look super tough. and I think the blacked out mags work with the tank and seat shapes from an "era" point of view. BUT the spokes work so it really is a personal preference thing. And you know me and blacked out wheels. Now, wheres that can of black spray paint?

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

I think that the mags flow so much better with the bike... clean them and paint em

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

I like the spokes! It does make a big difference in the attitude of the bike as far as looks go!

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Thanks for all the input guys. The spoke wheel are considerably lighter and I plan on swapping out one of them for an 18" later on. The good part is that I can always go back to mags at any time.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Gotta say although I like the spokes they're visibly lighter. With the size of the seat, the bike looks top heavy. Paint may balance the look out, but as is you need the visual weight down low.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Hmmmm. I never even thought of that. Like I said, I can switch back to the mags at any time. I was talking to T71ford about the paint and I think we may have come up with an idea. I do plan on using the "real estate" of the seat for something other than carry on luggage. So maybe then the spoked wheels will have a better affect?

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Wow, your bike is really taking shape! I love the spoked wheels, too.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

I'm loving that seat and tank combo rich. I wasn't sure about the seat for a while there but with the tank on it makes a whole hell of alot more since to me now.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Everything looks awesome, Rich. Going off of Crescent's 'visual weight' idea, you could powder the rims a darker color, and it would blend the rim into the tire, making it look bigger. Just a random thought...it's what I'm doing with mine to balance a little.

And did I see you mention scheming with Tyler for paint? Oh boy, this is going to be cool...

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Haha, I'm pretty sure I've 'borrowed' ALL of my ideas.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Thanks B! I'll work on your bike......you want it stripped and put up on ebay, right?

;D

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Re: Suzuki GR650- Tanked!

Thanks Josh. I actually have been trying to tie up some loose ends on it. Should be getting the tank and seat done within a couple weeks. Still need a chain and to plumb the front brakes too. Oh! And get some rear sets......keep forgetting about them.
