Suzuki GR650 - back to work...

Re: Suzuki GR650- rockin the twin! And ironing the details.

I see what you are saying- have no fears though. The paint still needs wet sanded and buffed, and I planned on putting some rubber around that section of the fiberglass. That way the seat isn't pressing directly up against the lens.

Got the new muffler installed this morning:

It sounds really, really good. Actually muffles the exhaust!! All the mounting hardware is just some rusty bolts I had laying around- so it will get painted and/or replaced later.

I ran a couple of those same traps on one of my autocross cars.
They didn't muffle that so much.....but it did sound gooooood.

does not even look like the same bike man! nice work!

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

Thanks fellas! Got another little update for the week. The thought of being rear ended with the original LED brake light was always on the back of my mind.......plus they look like a Darth Vader mask:

So I fitted up the Hodaka tail light tonight. It still needs a little TLC but you can get the idea:

Next time I'm taking pics outside in the sun I'll be sure to snap a few profile shots. The new tail light makes the bike look like a motorcycle, not a toy.......

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

Don't know how to tell you this but it NEVER looked like a toy. HELLUVA BIKE!
Nice use of some other OEM parts. ;)

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

The beat up yellow one? Nah- it came with one of those bikes me and Von got last year. It's a "T" plate, and I don't even know when PA stopped issuing them.......just had it on there for mock up/light output check.

'Twould make nice wall art.

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

Ah- I see what you're saying know Crescent.

I sold the bike that it was mounted to- the old plate looked cool so I unbolted the entire tail light assembly off the fender. It was chilling on the shelf so I used it for mock up purposes.

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

Wow... I don't even know what to say besides AWESOME!!!

That's one hell of a transformation! So cool ;D .

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

That new light is waaaay better than the other. This was definately ugly duckling to swan transformation for sure.

Can I ride it?

Ill tell ya what Justin, compared to his stock TEMPTER!!! (I think you should hear thunder strike everytime someone says TEMPTER!!!), this bike is a missle man. It really hauls ass.

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

You know he just made all TEMPTERS increased in value, people who never looked twice will be snapping them up to Cafe them now like all the old Hondas!

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

Give it another 5 years and Rich will own EVERY TEMPTER!!! sold in the US.

Really, for one guy to have found three of them locally is amazing. They only sold the bike for one year (in the States) and it didnt sell for shit really.

Rich is the keeper of all things TEMPTER!!! hahaha

Re: Suzuki GR650- DOT approved lighting

What in the heck are you two doing? :D

Let me say: thanks Noob and Maritime. Means a lot coming from you guys. It's funny because the platform is just "right" for options. I mean, the seat area sucks for a cafe but you just can't beat everything else about it.

Justin, you can ride it for sure. But you have to ride the stock TEMPTER first so you can compare. Luckily, I have a spare........and I'll have you guys know there was another GR650 on craigslist lately. They are asking $2200.......so I sure as hell won't own that one......
