Ah Tim, Swagger is one large man so I would suggest Mr. Dingleberry ;D

Those are sexy Swagger!

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

Whoa! Those are awfully pretty Mr......I mean Swagger!

Seriously though, they do look great. 10mm is fine- I've been waiting to replace those bolts (not studs) with stainless ones. Let me know how much I owe you!

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

This bike turned out real nice man. back about 3 years ago when i got my GR there was barely any good information on converting one to a cafe. Hopefully the new guys see your thread in the future.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

Thanks Swag! Still haven't had the chance to fit the mounts; hopefully next week. And thanks hish0ka! I know what you mean. I scoured the web before I started and as you said, there was very little info to stea........i mean "borrow". :)

Now some slightly bad news; I believe I have a slow leak in my back inner tube. So I NEED to get that taken care of before Barbers. Not a big deal, but certainly annoying.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

Bugger on the slow leak! There's a guy from the GSR heading to Barber's too (mlc216) so maybe you could catch up with him? I think he's going to be riding his Peter Fonda goes to Japan 450 chopper...

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

- Hi Big Rich , I am owner of one GR650X '83 and I like very much your job , I reed all pages.......... and I have one very importent question - How you set 2 front brake rotors on this GR650 :)

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

Thanks Kokovmax!

It was fairly easy to swap over to a dual disc setup. The front hub is already drilled and tapped to take the rotor on the right side, so all you need is the forks to hold the calipers. I "think" mine are from a GS650, but I got them on ebay so I'm not 100% sure about that. I did have to find/make the spacers to get everything to fit properly though.

Thank You Big Rich - thank You very much ! One more question - You use one more brake rotor from GR650 or use twin brake rotors for GS650??
- Pls keep update your theme!!! I like very much your job!!

BTW - Soon I will let the theme of making my bike and its improvements!
Now I colect needed parts , lights and so on , and after will show it :)

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

To my knowledge, Suzuki used the same slotted rotors for YEARS. So as long as you get a right rotor and a left rotor, they should just bolt right up.

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

Done! :D
Wat rear wheel you use ? I look for rear wheel(rhim) with 17 or 18"x3 , now in ebay have one in good shape from Suzuki GS-425 , but I dont now - will fit GR650 or not

BTW - sorry for using your topic :-[ if is problem.... I will clean it

Re: Suzuki GR650- Viva la Tarozzi!

Not a problem at all! Any questions that YOU ask and I answer them here, will be here later for future reference.

Right now I am using the stock GR650 brake hub, but the spokes and wheel are from a GT750. The GT models use the same diameter brake hub but have a 2.15*18" wheel - makes it a very easy swap. I did try to use a mag wheel from a GS450, but the hub was too narrow.

Re: Suzuki GR650- change is in the air.......

So now that riding season is officially over (at least since I yanked the carbs off anyway), it's time to get back to work. First order of business: new color for the wheel:

Unfortunately, I need to order nipples for the front wheel. Once I get a tyre mounted on the rear, the front wheel will be coming off and getting stripped down. That's all for now......

Re: Suzuki GR650- change is in the air.......

+1 on the color of the rim. That looks awesome!

What's up with your spelling of "tire" though... :D

What else is in the winter plan?

Re: Suzuki GR650- change is in the air.......

Habit I suppose- I'm putting the original Avon tyre back on and that's how they spell it. The other GR is getting a Kenda tire put on........

I'm trying to keep the plans light on this one - I'm working on a golf cart for my Dad, a Trail 90 for a co-worker, along with other projects in the garage/house. I do want to work on thinning out the seat and repaint the tank as well. If finances and time allows, I plan on getting a full fairing as well.
