Suzuki GS Inspiration

I'm in preparation of tackling a '78 GS550 E, it's down to the frame now - but I'm looking for some inspiration from other GS's out there. I'm concerned the fork set up may be positioned a bit high for Clubmans, and not sure if I want to go as low as Clipons. Also, I have the tank ready for painting, and will be working together a new seat soon.

I would like to be working on this project now, but I am currently over seas and have a few more months to go - It would be great to gather some GS pictures here, anything while I can't be riding.

I've always liked the look of the GS1000 Superbike...

The blue and white just looks great together. Add clip-ons or clubmans and a shorter Cafe style single seat... one-off custom that looks like a factory racer ;)

Good looking bike - I have heard that the GS's have good engines - However, you don't see too many on this site - not too many Suzukis when compared to CBs. Is this due to Hondas being more popular in the cafe scene, or that they are well made? I have heard good things about the GS engine.

Both are great in their own ways. I think Honda outsold Zook back in the day, so there's more around today. That and the fact that most Suzuki guys hang out over at the gsresources. DTT doesn't care what you wrench on......

no clip ons or custom anything, that looks great as a race replica. that is the form they were raced in the era

i love the old zooks. i also have a 78 gs550e, sorry no pics, and an 83 gs1100e that is my daily rider.

I'm so kicking around the idea of buying one of those front fairings. Airtech has them reasonably priced, but I'm not sure how well it will go with my interstate tank. I'm also looking at getting a set of dominator dual headlights. Might just go with a head light visor for my single. Just don't know yet.

Do it... I'm so putting a bikini fairing on my xs750

Bikini fairings are sexy. If I can find a smaller one, Im def rockin it on the 350 cafe. Sorry for the thread jack...

You can see the current state of my '82 GS750 in my pic-clubmans fit fine on mine, not sure how different yours is. And incidentally, my next step is going to be a quarter fairing. GSs are great bikes! Suzukis unite!

I'm not a big fan of that particular fairing, but I have my own reasons. Have you guys seen the Hammer endurance fairing from Airtech?

The GSs make great looking mustle bikes.
These are owned by a couple buddies of mine:
