Suzuki gt750 ________ tracker

And don't forget to count all the gears on both gear shafts to see what transmission is in there. There were 3 different sets of gears - JKL, MA nd A/B.

My A has an L transmission. I took a B trans out of a set of L cases and just removed an MA set from a B motor. Any of them are fine on a street motor, but later are slightly better ratios and a GS750 is better again, but with a taller first gear. Oil pumps are all teh same from 73 on - different arms and two different tops and rotors, but the same bodies and plungers and capacity. Only odd ball was the 72 with three plungers and it sucked oil tanks and collapsed them if the breather was blocked.

is there a big book of knowledge for the gt750 that you can recommend or is this just personal knowledge? My knowledge of the nuances of each yeAr is limited to some google searches.

Over on Sundial http://www.suzuki2strokes.com/forum , there's a link to Ian Sandy (oldjapanesebikes) web site http://www.oldjapanesebikes.com/GT750_field_guide/page-109 with lots of data. Oil pumps and some other stuff on www.pinkpossum.com (one of my sites) That really needs to be updated. It's about 3 or 4 bikes out of date, but still some good stuff there. Parts lists are available on line as are manuals at Ian's site. Muzza in Australia is another good source of material. http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/t500index.htm

Gearsets: I just finished counting teeth on every gear on 6 or 7 transmissions so that's about 50x5x6 or about 1500 teeth counted just to work out what was what so I could allocate different sets for different "builds" plus I have a record of what went in the last 3 GT750s.

I "inherited" a ton of parts last year which I am still sorting through. Unfortunately almost everything is worn or damaged in one way or another and needs to be mixed and matched or repaired and I have already taken two loads to the recycling depot. It's a blessing and a curse......

Teazer you have any more pics of the steering stabilizer/mount on your tracker? (sorry for the threadjack). I looked over at possum and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Don't know that I do, but I'll look.

But the short version is that I drilled and tapped an 8mm hole in the lower triple clamp to mount one end of the damper. The other end is a rose joint (heim/ball joint) that goes through a sort of Z shaped bracket about 1" long that fits under the tank. There's not a lot of space and it takes a bit of tweaking but not complicated.

Correction: I changed sides and on the right side there was no boss to tap into on the lower triple so I made a really simple bracket that goes under the clamp bolt.
