I am wondering if the tapered steering stem bearings from All Balls will fit my frame.

It is titled as a 73 but has a production date of 72.

It is definitely the older version of the frame.

I know this because of the position of the exhaust mounts.

your thought or experience?

Sorry, it is a GT380.

I think your best bet would be to contact AllBalls directly.

What's the production date on your bike? New models come out around Oct. but the bike will still be stamped for the actual build date. For example, a bike with a production date of 11/72, will be a 1973 model bike ;)

I'm out of town right now and can't remember the month...

I guess I should have waited to start this thread. I appologize.

No biggie.
There are/were instances where bikes were titled to the wrong year, but it's not that common.
Going by your knowledge of the frame differences, and the title, it's likely a '73 model. So you should be good with the AllBalls kit listed for the '73.

But, shoot them an email to double check ;)

Suzuki year and month of production seem to vary a bit form what you might expect. When I checked with Allballs, they list one part 22-1005 for all 380s, 550s 500s etc. they don't list a 72 GT380 Are you sure that the early bike is different?

the exhaust mounts for sure.

Durgan and I figured that out while we were discussing rearset options.

not sure about the rest of the frame.

I'd be very surprised if the bearings were different. Check one of teh on=line stores like Bike bandit and see if the same stock part carries over for all years.

I'm not turning up much info searching.

I figured the guys over at Sundial could help but I am still having issues registering.
