Swingarm width

Hey y'all, I'm working on a project bike and I am going to run a 150/70 17 rear tire on it on a 4.25 rim and I need to know how wide the swingarm should I be at the axle so I can build one accordingly. Any help is appreciated. Sean

Stop before you hurt yourself. What bike is it going on? The swing arm width is not as critical as stuff like chain and chain guard clearance. Are you building a bike starting with the rear wheel first, and then building around that? The rim and tire are just a couple of the measurements you need. Width of the brakes and sprockets after mounted.

O1marc, hurting myself is the last thing I want to do. The frame is going to be a custom build by me. I haven't sourced a rear wheel & hub yet so now I will work on that and then worry about the swingarm. I built my current bike from the ground up, including the frame. It's time for a bike that doesn't require a 10 acre field to turn because the forks are so long. Sean

I don't know the actual width, but I can tell you from experience, a 150 wide tire will fit in a stock CB750 swingarm... a 160 probably won't.
