Syncing CL350 Carbs, HELP!!

Been Around the Block
So the cl 350 carb, it says to sync by putting your hand behind the pipes and do it by feel and it should idle somewhere between 1200-2000 rpms (or something close, i'm going off of memory at this point). So i adjust the the idle screws and jet screw to where it seems to be idling consistently until i roll on the throttle and then when i roll off, it seems to just sort of hang out around 5-6000 and stays there almost like the throttle is stuck. Any ideas? am i syncing totally wrong?

Any advice?
Thanks!

some how, you leaned it out...

Would you suggest adjusting the mix screw first or adjusting the idle screw? When I hold my hand behind the exhaust, the both feel like the same pressure and rhythm so I thought I was getting close, maybe not? Any thoughts on how I can tune this in better?

What Swaps means is your carb sync sounds like it's not the actual problem. Are the intake/ exhaust / carbs stock?

A vacuum gauge should be used to sync the carbs (if at all possible). And if you are going by the manual, 1200 rpm is closer to idle.

The carbs and exhaust are stock, the air box is replaced with pods. Everything I read said that pods weren't enough to need new jets (maybe that was wrong?). The cl350 carbs don't have a spot for vacuum tubes

It's the pods that are the problem, spend a bunch of time searching and reading.
Pulses and sound about the same is correct sync

It looks like mixed reviews from different people. Some say they had to jet some said stock worked. Maybe I'm one of those people that'll have to jet?

Anyone who says that they swapped to pods on a cb/cl350 and didnt have to do carb work is either lying, or has a shitty running bike. Also, what filters did you use? The cheap Emgo ones are awful. Spend the cash on proper K&Ns.
