T-rex TX500 yamaha..."No Regrets"

Joe, if you don't have one on hand spend the pesos on a wideband EGA and a good Bosche O2 sensor. With this you can get 95% of where you want to be, and a lot of them have mini data logging onboard that'll allow you to see actual output vs. settings. On my autocrosser I was able to tune to around 230hp NA, and after 20 pulls on a dyno it eked out 237 peak.

no i ate a whole bottle this morning....everytime ive tried using a bosch product its pretty much backfired, this is especially true for their O2 sensors...i worked for a private garage for 5 years-ish and it got to the point where the owner of the garage wont use their O2 sensors anymore. we hada few problems with MAF sensors too...i just stay away. if im tuning something (and using a computer to do it) i use nothing but innovates stuff....just my $.02 take em and rub em together or throw em down the drain i dont care.

Innovate is hte manufacturer of my wideband. Guess who makes their sensors........

Hey Joe,

You and me practically got the same bike. TX500 vs XS500B. I honestly have to say as my bike lies in pieces and yours is built I keep invisioning how my XS is going to look and when I come back to look at yours I say damn. You just added the visor I was dreaming up and thinking about everytime I goto bed. I know Ive talked you about your rear sets before, probably on YouTube "digitaltitan".

Your using GSXR Rear sets, right? Tell me more about the bracket you made to hold them to the passenger foot peg. Perhaps a picture too??

THANKS JOE!!

Joe,
I just have to say that I love this bike. Every time I see it, I see something else that I like. Nice work, again!

thanks guys, hope i can get her tuned in... for the brackets on the rear sets, they are just flipped, i used the supporf from the right on the left and left on the right... from there just got a clamp and used that on one of the bolt holes. when i pick bac up the bike tomorrow ill snap some pics for you

Seriously awesome bike. Somehow it looks better and better everytime you drool, sorry, look at it.

I've been checking out this forum for a while, and had to register to say that I LOVE this bike. Awesome job man, you've given me a lot of inspiration from this.

well... she is back... still not tuned.. covered in rust, and looks like crap, spent 7 hours cleaning it last night and it still does not look right, the guy that had it kept it in a garage that must have had a ton of moisture, there is also a big ol scuff in my seat from a shoe or something... ahhh!
all in all the carbs could not be tuned, with the v stacks and pipes, tried it all... then tried pods... still nothing, then tried to make some lolly pops for the carbs to eliminate the amount of intake air... nothing

so i said FK it... ordered a set of VM30 mikuni carbs, and K&N filters for her! they are on the way... no idea how you guys tune the CV carbs but i will NEVER EVER EVER use them again!

It made me tear up a bit to hear the girl is in rough shape. At least you're buying a nice present to make it up to her.

First time poster to the forums, but have looked to your cafe build for ideas when needed. When you get those pics of the rearsets you made, I will be looking at them closely.

Figure I should post a pic of my gal.

That was a week before I laid her down too (395 miles on the reset Odometer).

I have since gotten a cafe seat for it, now windscreen, and a new tank for the one I dented. I also changed the handle bars to a 1" rise normal handlebar, but flipped it upside down.

Again, been watching this thread for a while, it is a nice bike JRK.

BTW, what jets did you have in your stock carbs? I have mine drilled out to 150, with pods and an open exhaust system? (although this year I packed my mufflers)
