Hey Guys,

Long time reader first time poster ;D

I've been meaning to create a build thread on my yamaha xs250 tracker style bike that a friend and I have been working on.

We've got most of the build complete but just need an opinion on the paint and where better to get one then from you fine folk.

The project was called the SWITCH after picking it up in a suburb called Ipswich. Wanted a switch between colour and highlight the lines of the fame.

I wanted a paint scheme a bit different but don't want it to personalised in case I want to sell it somewhere down the track.

would appreciate your feedback. Suggestions comment more than welcome.

Thanks Glen,

Yes I did think about using the old yam racing colours. Good point on following the line up from the seat, Will try doing a couple more mockups and see how it looks.

I always find it tough doing stuff like this for myself. Need to just bite the bullet and do it.

Man I've been mulling over paint for 6 weeks now. It's hard and I am a painter! But the mock-ups look awesome. Keep us informed.

i really like the first one, i also like where the red cuts off, the black line flows very nicely with that frame rail thats dies into the tank

Thanks mate,

I just remember seeing an show on a guy that rebuilt an old car and when he was spraying it he said to choose basic colour as it makes it easy to sell further down the track.

I like the seat. Where did you get it? Nice bike also.

Thanks man. The pics are a bit behind from where we're at, at the moment. We shaped it out of clay made the seat out of fibreglass, and the pan is foam with hand stitched leather.
