Tank fitment

I've searched a ton of places trying to find someone who's done this but had no luck. I'm wanting to use a royal enfield tank on my cb650 how much fab work would be involved in making it fit properly? Has anyone done this?

I was wondering this as well, and in researching it, this was the only post I could find. Anyone know the dimension (specifically length) of 4 gallon tanks found on eBay? 26" seems too long.
