Tanks produced in India

eBay UK is flooded with nice looking fuel tanks that are produced and shipped from India under many different sellers. Anyone had any experience with them?

Some of themy are spectacular, some of them are shit.

It's really a roll of the dice buying one online without seeing it in person first.

If you get something not as described, you file a not as described claim, and eBay sends you a label for to ship it back. Then gives you your money back when it arrives.

I've seen some polished alloy Indian tanks that looked fantastic on the outside, but on the inside looked like they were stored at the bottom of a river. :-[ A search shows many complaints about fitment issues with bolt holes not lining up and the tanks sitting as much as 2" further back than they should.

Having lived in India for several years, I am glad for the fact that I no longer need to buy Indian stuff or deal with Indian sales practices.

I own an Enfield I got there. As many parts as possible have been swapped for stuff that fits and works. I would stay far, far away from anything purchased sight-unseen from India. J-Rod may be correct about eBay's protections but I still wouldn't want to risk my time and effort in a cross-continental roll of the dice that's stacked against me. If I had someone over there to inspect it beforehand, possibly. Maybe.
