TD3 Replica Racer wiring trouble

In the process of converting a DS7 into a TD3 racer and I came across this wiring chop. For some reason it isn't working. Basically just not getting spark. confident coils are fine. Anyone know if this schematic should even work? I am not using a headlight or tail light so ignore that.

Looks OK to me. Have you checked for power at the points?

I think the problem may be I'm trying to use the stock reg rec instead of the one this company provides. I still think it should work but that's all I can figure so far...

The second diagram shows use of a magneto and permanent magnet alternator. First diagram is points and electromagnetic alternator.

I just realized I posted an rd stock schematic instead of a ds7.
