Technique for lining up tank mounts?

Hi Guys,
I need to weld on new front tank mounts to my XS650 and I'm looking for some pointers. How do you guys make them line up perfectly on both sides.
 
Measure twice...weld once. May take a bit of fiddling so just lightly tack them on at first until you are certain
