The Ballistic Cruze Mule...da Bob

Edit**

For some reason I just realized that you're running mags! I'm obsessed with the goldwing wheel apparently!

Carry on, and disregard!

No need to disregaurd at all, thanks for your input guy's. Its ideas like this that I have overlooked, and this build could go anyway at this point.

So at the moment I'm mediating piece between my 2 boy's that seem to think its world war 3....sporting a HUGE hangover and running on 4 hours sleep. But it was a wild night of drinkin and shootin the shit, even got a bit done...not as much as hoped, but we put the power tools away by 9:30 so we didnt injure each other

Anyway here is the Kerker Titanium can cut down, the 2/1 merge collector and the final mock up of the head pipes and collector...still need to fab an end for the can and drill the shell so I can bolt her all together....John cringed as I took the cut off wheel to a $850 Ti can  ahhhhh it was damn near a feebie amongst a trade deal sooooo I dont feel bad for cuttin it in half ;D drink another beer and watch the BRIGHT WHITE SPARKS fly my man 8)

I really like this. Normally I tend to go a bit more low profile with exhausts, but this fits the part well and with the USD front really makes me think a Ninja fucked an old bobber and this was the result... Good Stuff!

LOL, its gonna look like it fucked a whole slew of various Japanese bikes...still undecided on the wheels, we shall see. A good deal on a set of 17's for a supermoto just slipped past me...oh well.
My dad laughs at it a bit...say's if it was as fast as it looked it would be dangerous, good job its only packin 50HP or you would hurt yourself LOL. He just shook his head when I mentioned I could fix the lack of HP with a Turbo setup....

Well, not much of an update but I won a Katana rear wheel on ebay...complete with disk/cushdrive/tire ;D should be here in a week or so.

Also have a fellow DTT'er fabbin up some headlight brackets and a steering stabaliser mount, should be SAAAAAWEET. Soooo I have lots to keep me busy for the next while, once I sell a bit more of my stuff I'll be hittin up Rock City Cafe for a set of aluminum fenders 8)

FUCK! This it just too cool, The Kerker on the back looks so wicked. Just an idea, it would be cool to be able to swap end peices for straight or witht he Kerker, Most dirtbikes utilize a spring system to hold peice of the pipes together. you could weld "loops" on the peices in unifrom so you can swap back and forth and the springs would look pretty cool too.

just to make sure its clear what im talking about check ths picture i attached

That was the plan, notice the slip fit of the 2-1 colector...easily slip on/off for just this purpose. But I was going to just use band style clamps, your spring idea is far better as it wont crush the pipes at all so it will be way easier to swap to the straight pipes if i want. Thanks for the idea.

yah, I would use larger springs for *show* adds for some BLING .from the looks of it its already got a snug fit so it just needs a little tention to hold it in place. I know ACE hardware has a huge selection of springs not to mention their epic collections of Stainless metric nuts and bolts!

EBAY:

I would get long ones and have em raised a bit of the pipes so they stand out more, adding some oldschool feel.

I am living vicariously through you man!

If you're interested in a spoked front wheel, take a read through this, it's for a Suzuki but it should work for a Honda as well. Same idea as the 550 in the banner right now, there are some Ness Hubs on ebay for around $50, excel sells 40 spoke wheels, just need the spokes then. It's not exactly the cheapest thing to do, but if you're anything like me, the miss-match will just urk your.

BTW, it looks fantastic!

Messed up last post will try agian, anyway great work! I like the decisions you are making about piecing things together and fully support the mini seat hump idea. like it. The soft tail suspension arrangment is fantastic, and hurts my head to try and understand. Looking forward to seeing where it goes now. checking out your bike reminds me of the Wrench Monkees work and in particular this Kawi, not the same style but somehow kindred to you bike I think.

Thanks guy's.

I ground down the welds and smoothed out the exhaust pipes so far this week, not much else going on with the build though. Hope to get a bit done this weekend on it. Throwing around the idea of mounting the old finned oil pan on top of the fuel tank and hide some of the electrics there, my exhaust took up more room than I hoped so it can no longer be placed there. Also going to try getting the rear brake light and signals mounted so I can finish the seat hump.

You bet bud. I'll post a little inspiration for ya. On this one it would have been interesting to see what it would look like with the seat rails gone or atleast at more of an angle then have the seat mounted to a single leaf spring. But anyway, I think it is pretty cool as is.
Enjoy:

you shmuck... now i want to build a bobber. thing looks sexy. :D

yeah, that's one of the coolest big twins I've ever seen. it's nice that it's actually rideable! too many great lookin bikes are no fun to ride. ruins the whole point, more to a bike than lookin at it, right?

which is a reason I love this build. you are getting the look you are after without sacrificing too much rideability. hardtails may look good but are just completely impractical from what I can tell. but I've never ridden a hardtail...

Got my Katana rear wheel today, I'll see if I can slot it in tomorrow and take some pic's. Didnt do anything to the bike on the weekend, helped my dad get his bike ready for the season on Saturday and went to the bike show on Sunday.
