The best brands and type of paint

What kind of paint is the best for painting forks, motors, frames, etc., I'm going to be using black truck bed liner spray for my frame and some hi-temp paint for the motor. What are some other suggestions or tips for painting?? Powder-coating isn't in the budget for this project.

I've had a lot of good luck with VHT's "High Temperature" series of paints. I mean, Im no professional painter, but I think they apply very easily and nicely and are a little more forgiving than others as far as runs and such (if you follow the directions). Best part being they are available at pretty much every auto parts store.
For items that cant be heat cured though, their "Prime Coat" primer seems to help adhesion/durability a lot.

P.S. - I'm not a shill for VHT, the Oreilly's by my house just happens to stock a ton of their spray cans.

Thanks! heard that as well. I will be using that paint for my motor.

Something you might consider, the thickness of the bed liner might cause fit issues when reassembling.

Prepping the surface is equally, if not more important than paint type... VHT is great indeed, but will last the longest with a coat of epoxy primer beneath the paint.

Also, for the aluminum parts (i.e. forks), Dupont makes a 2 step prep system that will help the paint stick and last longer.

I've had great luck with Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy for items that get a lot of wear. Frames and swingarms seem to do well with it. It takes a long time to dry, but it has a very high solids content, so it holds up great.
