Now I gotta go!!! Damn those are some beauties!!!! I've head stories about how great it is and have been threatening to go. Is that a genuine Guzzi V8or a replica? That Manx is more than reason enough to go.

Solvang? You're kidding? Must be a new thing.
I used to live in Los Olivos and there's nothing in Solvang but factory outlet stores.

It is a replica, but it is stunning nonetheless.

Didn't set foot in any outlet stores, but the Solvang Brewing Company has some amazing top 5 all time buffalo wings!

I was wondering. Back in the early 60s at a show in L.A. they had the real deal, roped off with a "Do Not Sit On" sign. Naturally I had to sit on it. I don't know who it was but somebody gave me a ferocious clatter across the back of my head and a very loud "Get off the godamm bike!!". But at least I can say I sat on a V8 Guzzi.

I read an interesting piece a few years back. There was a father and son making those replicas and Guzzi was in the process of restoring one of them. The father/son offered to help with any parts needed and their offer was politely declined by Guzzi.

Not to be nitpicking or anything, but its a danish settled town ;)

were there any Nimbus' bikes btw?

Duly noted, they did have the best swedish pancakes I've ever had, maybe that's what threw me off ;)!

Their website show's a Nimbus with a sidecar, but neither I nor my camera recall seeing it.

Hey, I grew up in Solvang for a period of my life, actually I still lived there up until a few months ago... bummed I didn't know you were there, cooulda met up and had a beer at Solvang Brew Co and gone for a ride.

Yeah the Museum is owned by this guy Virgil, my old neighbor actually. Crazy guy, totally nutz about bikes, and a huge asshole. For a guy that loved bikes, he sure hated me riding my dirtbike up and down our shared driveway (it was pretty long, about 2 miles) there was a straight section where i could grab 6th and the rest of the throttle, this happened to be right next to his house.

Swellguy, where do you live now? I am in Santa Barbara, are any of you close?

Dakine, I was up there with the GF for our 1 year anniversary sans motorcycle, so no bench racing for me! Did get to watch some Final 4 action at the Brew Co, some of the best chicken wings I've ever had. They were out of most of their homebrews though...

Oh Nice, yeah I like some of their homebrews, in all honesty I like the Firestone Brew Co better, it is just 5 minutes further north in Buellton. Good to hear you guys had a good time, Solvang is a weird little town, but the Santa Ynez Valley in insanely cool, tons of great wines and awesome roads for a ride
