The best rattle cans on the planet!!!!!!

Been Around the Block
DTT BOTM WINNER
So for all of my builds I am a rattle can guy, I have been trying many combos to give a gas resistant finish but, most of the over the counter paints and clear (color rite, and duplicolor) get destroyed if you even think of getting a splash of gas on them. I have seen the light! Spraymax 2 part aeorsols. They are a real 2 part, the botom half of the can is the activator that has to be released in to the main body when you are ready to use. I only use the primer and clear, but they are ridiculously good. They even have a spray adjuster for gods sake! They are expensive $17-18 but one can is equivalent to about 2 regular cans of primer, and they spray so good, and is as tough as a professional job, after it cures acetone won't even put a mark on it, try that with the others!

Who sells this stuff, sounds good but shouldn't the primer and finish paints be from the same manufacturer? I have painted a few tanks and side covers with rattle cans but I didn't really know much about it. I have been researching and now want to try it again.

Completely agree Brad. Spraymax is a godsend. Their single stage colors are money too, very glossy.

They are great. I've painted two bikes with the spraymax bc/cc. The high build filler primer is awesome too. Fills in 120grit scratches and great build up for blocking.

Just ordered the single stage black for my current build as I wanted a straight up deep black for that vintage look. I've also heard their single stage colors have great gloss.

This is their single stage black:

Pretty damn glossy, especially comparing the paint to the shiny new black visor.

I used their 2k clearcoat on my CM400 over duplicolor paint. Tank, fenders, and wheels. The stuff is amazing

I usually order mine from Eastwood, as there are no local suppliers near me.

And it will work with fine over duplicolor or other brands.

Picked mine up from here: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_2_part_2k_aerosol.cfm

Does anyone have info on a supplier here in Toronto??

As far as I know, there are no Spraymax distributors in Canada. And you can't ship aerosols over the border with out paying more than it's worth. Canada's laws on aerosol paints really limit our selection here. Part of the reason why I invested in a couple quality paint guns.

Good tip... I took a look, their price is not that bad if you're getting quality clear.

Originally bought from 66 Auto Color till the place at the bottom of the hills started carrying it on the shelves. Shot the daughter's guitar in Plum Crazy Purple with it and it looks great. I also use Duplicolor base colors with the Spraymax 2k clear. Never have a problem with the two, together.

Looks like Eastwood is now packaging it for themselves. Same cap and bottle, I'm betting its the same paint

Yeah dude, I got some at NAPA in Kitchener Ontario for around 20 bucks. TIP: Buy the fast drying version clear coat. Something like 5-10 minutes and done. The faster it dries the less dust can stick to it so better results!

Since it should show up once on every page in a 2k paint thread - if you use it, get a real respirator. This stuff will catalyze inside your lungs as well as it does anywhere else and i hear it's a shitty way to go.
